Serotkin Group operates with clients in several ways, which can be adapted for each engagement.

360 Assessment and follow-up: On entry point, we focus on discovery, assessing the current state of operations across the functional spectrum, and comparing with alignment to the CEO’s vision. With that exercise completed, we can support as regular counsel to the CEO (and his/her designated functional leaders) where the need is greatest.  The follow-up is captured in a written plan of action. The focus on metric derivation provides the CEO with insights not otherwise available.

Fractional Executive: We can provide a few hours each day, a few days each week, or other arrangements to buttress a functional area.  That could mean, for example, serving as financial lead, overseeing internal bookkeeping and/or outsourced accounting firm managing the company’s books.

Executive Liaison: We can serve as the company interface with outsourcing firms, leveraging these investment dollars.

Project Basis: From the 360 Assessment will likely evolve specific activities.  Recent project engagements include planning for and financing the redemption of shareholder stock; investigating an ESOP; analyzing the firm’s accounting platform, recommending replacement and working with implementers to adapt the new platform; and developing an RFI template for implementation.

The Serotkin Group is immersed in the GovCon ecosystem so that we can recommend the best people to supplement other needed functions.

Paul Serotkin

CEO

Three factors have marked Paul Serotkin’s career: relentless focus on strategic growth; the pursuit of emerging technologies, services, and products that make federal government agencies run more smoothly; and the holistic mindset common to successful entrepreneurs.

Paul began his professional career with a national association representing the interests of entrepreneurs, fighting for what ultimately became the landmark Small Business Innovation Research Act. He had the honor of being in the Rose Garden when President Reagan signed the bill in July 1982.

From there, he evolved into leadership, specifically in corporate development and mergers and acquisitions, laser-focused on industries that serve national security and civilian interests for the federal government. The strong transactional aspect of his background led to the completion of 25+ deals. Early on, he understood that emphasis on shareholder value is critical to CEO/founders throughout their GovCon entrepreneurial journey.

Paul’s experience working with public sector companies covers direct operation and management of several closely held government contractors. Since 2005, he has operated various small business and socioeconomic government contractors.

During a career that spans more than 35 years, Paul has served as executive, investor, consultant, board advisor, and board member for companies in the public sector. He also served as a director of organizations that support the government contracting industry and the technologies and services they develop and offer. Most recently he was chapter president of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA).

Paul earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, respectively, from Northeastern University and Boston University.
